‍

‍1/ A community discussion I launched πŸ—£

‍

Ask Me Anything

‍

I thought I’d try something new: a Thursday open thread. Introduce yourself or AMA. Any topic is fair game but please keep it respectful. I’ll be around most of the day.

‍

2/ A private discourse I wrote πŸ“

‍

The Subtle Art of Relaxation

‍

Relaxing is a state of mind. You can’t force it. Drop the chase and it will bubble up by itself.

‍

3/ A PDF I skimmed πŸ“’

‍

Startup Handbook

‍

A collection of advice written by a VC for post-Seed to pre-Series B companies. Chapters range from hiring and compensation to raising money and running the organization.

‍

4/ A TED talk I re-watched 🎨

‍

Things I’ve learned in my life so far

‍

A graphic designer with a different way at looking at things.

‍

5/ An album I’m listening to 🎸

‍

Songs for Groovy Children: The Fillmore East Concerts by Jimi Hendrix

Spotify / Apple Music / Google Play / Tidal

‍

At 15, James Marshall Hendrix taught himself to play on a wrong-handed guitar and fused blues, funk, and psychedelic rock through effects pedals that became givens in rock and electronic music today. Last week the full recordings of his Fillmore East concerts were released, which captures hours of feedback-drenched performances on the Lower East Side in NYC on New Years Eve 1969. Decades after his tragically early death, his skill as a guitarist remains unmatched.

‍

6/ An art installation I appreciated πŸ“±

‍

‍

β€œAbsorbed by light” was created show how we’re constantly drawn to the screens that illuminate our lives. The installation sees three figures sitting next to each other on a bench with familiar poses and positions of smartphone users: heads bent, fingers typing and swiping, faces glowing in reflected light.
