Songs for Groovy Children: The Fillmore East Concerts by Jimi Hendrix
Spotify / Apple Music / Google Play / Tidal
β
At 15, James Marshall Hendrix taught himself to play on a wrong-handed guitar and fused blues, funk, and psychedelic rock through effects pedals that became givens in rock and electronic music today. Last week the full recordings of his Fillmore East concerts were released, which captures hours of feedback-drenched performances on the Lower East Side in NYC on New Years Eve 1969. Decades after his tragically early death, his skill as a guitarist remains unmatched.

6/ An art installation I appreciated π±
β
β
βAbsorbed by lightβ was created show how weβre constantly drawn to the screens that illuminate our lives. The installation sees three figures sitting next to each other on a bench with familiar poses and positions of smartphone users: heads bent, fingers typing and swiping, faces glowing in reflected light.
